Artist Submissions

Thank you for your interest in The Blackburn Gallery. It is our priority to promote the work of our existing artists and find new artists to compliment our mission. The artists that we represent are chosen based on various criteria and all decisions are made as a team. We strive to adequately review each submission in a timely manner and make the best decision for both the gallery and the artist. Please keep in mind that receive hundreds of submissions throughout the year and allow sufficient time as we look over your information.

Email submissions are preferred but we do take appointments to review work and portfolios. Please send email submission to submissions@theblackburngalleryva.com

SUBJECT: Fine Art Submission

Please include the following

• 6-10 JPG images at 100DPI of Currently available works professionally  taken image are preferred as they allow us to see the best representation of your work. Images files should be named with the piece of works name and artist last name. Example ( hollowpoint_Carroll.jpg)

• List of details about submitted works Size, Medium, Artist pricing, Current gallery affiliations

• Artist Statement with Name, Mailing address,email address,Phone number, and web site.

• All portfolios/slides/misc materials submitted that you wish to be returned MUST include a self-addressed envelope with proper postage.

For Traditional Portfolio submissions please follow these guide lines

·         Please submit 6-10 prints 8x10 to 11x14 in size of currently available works

• List of details about submitted works Size, Medium, Artist pricing, Current gallery affiliations

• Artist Statement with Name, Mailing address,email address,Phone number, and web site.

• All portfolios/slides/misc materials submitted that you wish to be returned MUST include a self-addressed envelope with proper postage.

The Blackburn Gallery represents a maximum of 16 resident artist at any one time with no more than two guest artist at one time.

All submissions will be reviewed as soon as possible however it may take up to four weeks for review and a decision to be made. Please do not send follow up email requesting submission status this may only delay the process.
